KUDOS to Brian Messina-You Make it Happen

This year’s “You Make It Happen” award winner loves a clean car. He loves cleaning cars so much, he started out with a minimum-wage job and kept washing cars until he was sitting behind the owner's desk of his own wash.

Back in 1999, Brian got involved in NECA and did he ever get involved! By 2005, he was a member of the Board. He served as a Director, on the Membership Committee, as Table Top Chairman, as the Sign Program Coordinator and for two years as Treasurer. He completed his Board service in 2009 but continues to co-chair the Table Top Show and coordinate the Sign Program. He even attends an occasional Board meeting, and we hope that he will return to the Board someday to sit in the President’s seat.

The common factor throughout is Brian's passion to help people. He learned all the behind scenes of the industry but his true love is to be out front helping and talking with the customers, making sure they leave with a smile and a sense of being truly served.

He truly has given this industry his all and wants success for every operator he comes in contact with. He will talk to new and experienced owners for hours to help them get the right start or make the right change to get them to the place they were looking to achieve. Brian says, "The industry has been great to me and I want to give back in any way I can." This has not gone unnoticed. He was honored by Professional Car Washing and Detailing as one of "The Stars of 2007".

NECA certainly has been a recipient of Brian’s enthusiasm, expertise, energy and untiring devotion to the industry. For all he has done and is yet to accomplish, we honored Brian Messina with the 2010 “You Make It Happen” award. As an added celebration, it was Brian's 50th Birthday!
