Waves Car Wash Awarded Grant

Construction has begun at Waves Car Wash in West Roxbury to add solar panels to the facility. Owner Adam Korngold was awarded a $48,340 grant from the Massachusetts Solar Stimulus program. The program is set to award $4 million in federal funding, offering grants to 56 different projects throughout the Commonwealth.

Adam had applied for the grant to continue operating a green car wash and lower his carbon footprint. The addition of solar panels will  produce about 40,000 kilowatts a year and cut his electricity bill 15 to 20 percent.
