Gary Sokoloski Wins 2009 “You Make It Happen” Award

Our honoree for the 2009 “You Make it Happen” Award has contributed to our industry for over 25 years. An extremely knowledgeable and respected individual in our industry, he has helped countless car washers with his expert advice and guidance, including me I might add.

I had the pleasure of serving with him on the NECA Board of Directors for three years where he headed our membership committee and provided insight into the supplier side of our community. Always an astute contributor, he currently writes for the Northeast Carwasher and edits the NECA E-Newsletter. Rarely missing a car wash event anywhere in New England, he has been on a number of panels at NECA meetings and the NRCC sharing his technical prowess on many occasions.

Walpole Car Wash was the first stop in his car wash career. Next stop - Frank DeToamasso where he installed equipment and further honed his skills. And finally, Non-Stop where our winner spent most of his career in a variety of positions including sales, service tech, and service manager, working for Mr. Bob Schaefer, who took him under his wing.

For over a year now, our winner has partnered with David Bruno and Autowash Supply Co., Inc. He now enjoys working for himself, selling and servicing a whole new era of tunnel equipment.
